IPMS Kalamazoo and IPMS West Michigan are pleased to announce the official date for the 11th Annual Kalamazoo Air Zoo Contest!

I have added a new section to the website for download various forms the club uses. Currently in there are;

Article Submission Procedures - Gives you the step by step procedure to create an article to publish on the website.

KSM Gallery Submission Form - Club Members and Visitors can fill this form out prior to the club meeting and have their model added to our club gallery.

January Election Results

My apologies to the new officers of the club. It's been a busy and interesting month.

In our club meeting in January, we held officer elections. There were several nominations across the various office positions. Amanda Nelson was nominated and elected to the President position (Editor Note: Oh No.......a woman president ). Both Jim Fox and Clarence Wenztel were nominated for the position of Vice President. In a landslide victory Clarence won the position of Vice President. Finally the club voted to retain George Smith as our Secretary/Treasurer.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR NEW/RETURNING OFFICERS!!!

President: Amanda Nelson

Vice President: Clarence Wentzel

Secretary/Treasurer: George Smith

While not an official officer position, Clarence Wentzel still retains the position of Chapter Contact.

Our 10th Annual Model Contest at the Air Zoo is officially over. Our final numbers were; 104 Entrants and 354 models.

Big thanks needs to be given to Clarence Wentzel for his efforts as Contest Chairman.

A big thanks need to be given to the following;

Air Zoo - For their continued support and hosting of this great contest.

IPMS Kalamzoo and IPMS Grand Rapids - For preparing, setting up and teardown for the contest.

All our Vendors who came to share their goods with us.

All our Sponsors, from Category Sponsers to Raffle Sponsors.

And finally to all our entrants. Without their efforts in traveling and modeling skills, we would not be able to put on such a fine show.

On January 8, IPMS Kalamazoo held it's yearly officer elections. We would like to have everyone welcome our 2008 Officers to their new positions.

President - Richard Bauer (2007 Vice President)
Vice President - Stewart Bailey
Treasurer / Secretary - George Smith (Re-elected)

2007 Contest Gallery is Online

Well another contest has come and gone. The 2007 Air Zoo Contest was another great success. While it was not our greatest year for entrants and models, we saw over a 10% increase in models this year compared to 2006. Our final numbers were; 107 Entrants and 390 models.

Big thanks needs to be given to Stewart Bailey and Clarence Wentzel for their co-chair efforts this year.

Also big thanks to the following;

07 Contest Information Now Online

Everyone who has been waiting for the 2007 Contest information to be posted, wait no longer. By using the 2007 Contest Menu to the left, you can find out all the important information regarding the contest. Some minor changes have been made this year, like;

Category #17 is no longer Pre-1930, it is now.......Bi-Planes & Rigged (All Scales All Types)
We did away with the Best Semper Fi and Best USAC
We added Best USAF this year, this will rotate every year.
Theme this year is...Class of '57, the dawn of space.
