2014 Pasta and Plastic June 21

The 7th Annual Pasta & Plastics Model Contest & Dinner will again be held in the Fellowship Hall & Lounge at 214 Spencer St. NE in Grand Rapids(In the past the Plainfield United Methodist Church). This model contest is an inter-club model contest between IPMS/West Michigan, IPMS/Kalamazoo, and the T.R.I.A.D. Model Club of Muskegon.

Each modeler that enters the contest will pay a $ 5.00 entry fee to enter 4 models into the contest. There are 7 categories which include: Aircraft, Armor, Automotive, Dioramas, Figures, Miscellaneous, and Watercraft models. The models will be judged by the contestants and all visitors in attendance. There will be one winner per category and the club whose members win the majority of the categories will have the honor of hosting the contest in 2015.

This event and the awards dinner that follows is only open to club members, their families, and friends.

Tim Ridout will again provide the main dishes for the “Pasta” dinner. We are asking for volunteers to provide drinks & desserts. Everyone attending the meal is asked to make a voluntary contribution to pay for the cost of the dinner.

The event will begin with model contest registration beginning at 2PM on Saturday, June 21st. Viewing the models will begin at 2:30PM, and then Club members and all visitors will be able to begin voting on their favorite models at 4:30PM. Dinner will begin at 5:00PM, followed by an awards ceremony at 6:00PM.

IPMS/West Michigan will also be having a model raffle during the event.

We need volunteers to help with registration, setup, security, drinks, deserts, and take down at the end of the event.

For more information or to volunteer contact Gordon Ensing at 616-784-6905 or gordy914@att.net
