Clare's WWI Mutli Wing Contest

After Clare won George's Motorcycle Challenge, Clare elected to have his contest cover Multi-Wing Aircraft in 1/72. Acceptable Aircraft ranged from WWI to those aircraft from between WWI and WWII. All participating members were given 6 months to complete their kits. At our November 4th meeting, we had 5 members who brought their entries.

Fold-away Model Photo Base

In order to take a good photo of a model or a component of a model, it must be placed on a flat surface with a backdrop. In order to avoid seeing a hard line at the intersection of the surface and the backdrop, the intersection must be curved. The background has to flow smoothly into the horizontal surface. I first found out about this techniques when I worked at GM and saw how they photographed new cars.

Pasta & Plastic 2008

On June 28, 2008, three model clubs in the West Michigan area met again to compete in the Second Annual Pasta & Plastic event. Participants were members from IPMS West Michigan of Grand Rapids, TRIAD model club of Muskegon and IPMS Kalamazoo of Kalamazoo. The event was held at the IPMS West Michigan meeting hall since they were the winning club last year.

On the weekend of November 10, 2007, a group from the Kalamazoo Scale Modelers made a trek westward to attend the IPMS Butch O'Hare club's annual contest. It was a fun time for all!
